MSc. BA (Hons) Psychotherapist, Counsellor & EMDR Therapist

Hi, welcome to my website. I’m guessing you’re reading this because you’re looking for a therapist for yourself, a loved one or perhaps a friend. Maybe you’re wondering if I can help – let me tell you a little about myself.

I am a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and EMDR therapist with over 30 years’ experience of working in mental health with a wide range of issues. I worked for many years in the prison system and it is here that I began to work therapeutically with people who had experienced trauma many of whom have been told they have a personality disorder. Over the years I have gained experience in working with people who are neurodivergent (mainly autism and ADHD) particularly at the interface of neurodivergence and trauma.

I developed a keen interest in trauma and traumatology and went on to undertake specialist training in this field (I have a Diploma in Trauma Therapy). I now work in private practice as a trauma and EMDR therapist.

I have a specific interest in working with:

In my experience many people who have been told they have a personality disorder (especially borderline personality disorder), or have complex needs, experienced trauma in early life.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), The EMDR Association of the UK & Ireland, The UK Psychological Trauma Society and The Society for Existential Analysis.
